CAPTURING LIGHT
The first picture was taken at my mother's house on Long Pond in Lakeville. The picture was taken around 6:30pm, when i glanced outside and saw the sunset. The sun was directly across from our house and my sister, mother, and I were walking around like idiots trying to get a good picture of it. The picture was taken from our deck and is positioned perfectly to have the dock cutting into the center of it diagonally. A tree branch is completely black in the upper left of the picture and the tree line across the water is a silhouette as well. The water starts to shadow after the jet ski too. The rule of thirds was not considered but it falls into effect as the color and tree line are in the center third of the picture, the upper tree branch in the upper third, and the dock in the lower third. The contrast really attracts your eye as well in this picture. I would consider the feeling of the picture to be a serene and peaceful one. I enjoyed taking these pictures.
